Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy involves lying in a full body pod what emits five therapeutic wavelengths on light (630nm, 660nm, 810nm, 830nm and 850nm). The difference in wavelengths does not mean there's a difference in its therapeutic effect, it just does the same cellular regulation at differing depths of the body.

The light acts on mitochondria which are what create energy within the body, on average we have 110,000,000,000,000 in our bodies. Inside the mitochondria there is a little motor known as the Krebs cycle, the Krebs cycle is what generates ATP, adenosine triphosphate, the life source for human beings. This is how we get all of what we perceive as energy. The more efficient we are at creating ATP, in other words, the healthier our mitochondria are, the more energy our system has at a cellular level.

The Krebs cycle has two cycles, an anaerobic cycle where it can actually generate ATP, albeit very inefficiently without oxygen. Mitochondria are forced into this cycle when nitric oxide binds where oxygen normally does. Nitric oxide is a free radical produced in response to stress, whether that be diet, toxin, mental and emotional stress.

The aerobic cycle which occurs when oxygen binds over nitric oxide, for the same revolution you get roughly 16 times more ATP. As the red and near infrared wavelengths of light from the pod pass the wall of the mitochondria it dislodges nitric oxide and forces oxygen to dock increasing your cellular energy potential by 16x. Anything that helps oxygen enter the mitochondria is beneficial for cellular energy and when a cell has more energy it can eliminate waste, repair, detoxify, divide and regenerate at a much healthier pace.

This is also very important for preventing or reversing symptoms of ailments and illness. When a cell contains several dysfunctional mitochondria, the body can navigate it. However, when there are too many dysfunctional mitochondria, the cell itself becomes dysfunctional. As dysfunctional cells accumulate, they form dysfunctional tissue. Excessive dysfunctional tissue can compromise an organ. Dysfunctional organs lead to a dysfunctional system, which can ultimately result in ailments, illnesses, and diseases. Addressing mitochondrial health is therefore essential for overall well-being.

In general between ages 20-40 most people lose half of mitochondrial capacity, between the ages of 40 and 70 it halves again. Quantified roughly by saying 10% of mitochondrial capacity per decade - Dave Asprey Podcast

A study in Sweden with 30,000 women showed that sunlight exposure is as detrimental to disease and mortality outcomes as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day - Drruscia.com

If all the positive results achieved in laboratory settings go on to demonstrate comparable improvements in sports performance in the real world, PBM will become very popular mainly amongst high level athletes - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5167494/

Infrared Sauna

An infrared sauna session involves sitting in our ergonomically designed cabin that emits infrared light. Unlike traditional saunas that use steam or hot air to heat the body, infrared saunas use infrared heaters to emit light waves that directly penetrate the skin and heat the body from within. This deep tissue heating can reach cm’s beneath the skin. Many of the physiological effects of sauna use are similar to those elicited during moderate to high-intensity aerobic exercise.

The sauna contains full infrared spectrum however it is the far-infrared that reaches deepest into the body, aiding in detoxification and metabolism. Infrared heat helps to stimulate the sweat glands, resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat that can eliminate heavy metals, mould, chemicals, and other toxins from the body. As these elements have the ability to impact mitochondria function, detoxification is essential for promoting a healthier internal environment.

As the body heats up, it responds by increasing blood flow, similar to the effects of moderate exercise. This increased circulation delivers oxygen and nutrients more efficiently throughout the body, promoting healing and recovery. The heat also helps to relax muscles and relieve tension, making it beneficial for those with chronic pain or muscle stiffness.

Regular use of an infrared sauna can also support cardiovascular health by reducing blood pressure and improving vascular function. Additionally, it can boost the immune system by inducing a mild, artificial fever that stimulates immune function.
